Jan Vertonghen and Jeremy Doku loved £27m Arsenal player’s latest international display

Jan Vertonghen and Jeremy Doku have both sent messages to Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard after his display for Belgium last night.

Leandro Trossard played the full 90 minutes on Sunday as Belgium thrashed Azerbaijan 5-0.The 28-year-old netted in stoppage time after Romelu Lukaku bagged four goals in the first half to put the Red Devils in a commanding position.

Trossard has impressed over the past year for Arsenal and has nailed down a place in Domenico Tedesco’s Belgium side.

Lauded as an ‘unbelievable’ talent by Gabriel Martinelli, Trossard has enjoyed a promising start to the season and continued his brilliant form for Belgium last night.

And it’s fair to say that Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku and former Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen were both impressed with his display.

Trossard took to Instagram after an emphatic win for Belgium, which means they will finish top of their Euros qualifying group.

He wrote: “Enjoyed being part of the Big Rom show! Group winners!”

A host of Belgium’s players left comments beneath the post, with Nottingham Forest star Orel Johnson Mangala labelling Trossard a ‘baller’.

Doku also replied to the Arsenal star, while Vertonghen commented with a snake emoji.

Trossard has proven to be an inspired signing for Arsenal after they picked him up for just £27 million back in January.

The forward has netted six times and provided two assists in 14 appearances for the Gunners this season.

It’s no secret that Mikel Arteta has had to deal with several injuries to key players already this season. But Trossard has once again proven useful as he’s been used in various roles in the Arsenal side.

He’s clearly enjoying a decent run of form at the start of the season and it will be interesting to see if he keeps his place in Arteta’s starting XI once Gabriel Jesus returns.
