BBC pundit thinks West Ham have a player who could be just as good as £55m Manchester City star

Nigel Reo-Coker thinks West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus could be just as good as Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku.

Reo-Coker has been speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live and feels David Moyes is currently playing Kudus out of position.

Kudus completed a switch to the London Stadium over the summer as he joined from Ajax for a fee worth £38 million

It’s fair to say that barring a few real moments of quality, Kudus is yet to find his feet at West Ham.

The 22-year-old has netted two goals for the Hammers so far and has started just one game in the Premier League.

His only start came against Everton on the weekend as West Ham fell to a surprise 1-0 defeat at home.

And Reo-Coker believes Moyes is using the Ghana international in the wrong position.

Reo-Coker claims Kudus could make similar impact to Doku

Speaking on Football Daily, Reo-Coker claimed that Kudus could be just as good as Jeremy Doku if Moyes uses him as a winger.

He said: “When you say attacking selection this weekend [against Everton], for me why is he playing Kudus in the middle instead of out wide?

“I think Kudus can have the same impact as Doku does for Manchester City. Paqueta should be your middle man, he’s the guy that can orchestrate everything.

“I think playing Kudus in the middle is something for me you can kind of question. He needs to be out wide, high, one-on-one against defenders and then producing his magic up there.”

Doku signed for City for a fee worth around £55 million over the summer and has looked bright so far.

The Belgian winger boasts similar traits to that of Kudus, but it could be argued the West Ham man is more clinical in the final third.

While Kudus has proven to be a versatile player during the early stages of his career, he does seem better suited to playing out wide.

But as the Hammers already have Jarrod Bowen operating off the right-hand side, it would mean switching Kudus out to the left.

Nevertheless, Moyes will need to work out how to get the best out of the talented forward at some point this season.

He excelled during his spell at Ajax and clearly has the required qualities to thrive in the Premier League.
