West Ham United trying to sign £29m Wolverhampton Wanderers player

David Moyes’s West Ham United are interested in signing Nelson Semedo from Gary O’Neil’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.

That is according to Football Transfers, which has claimed why West Ham want to bring Semedo to London Stadium.

So, what is being reported about West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nelson Semedo? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to Football Transfers, West Ham United are interested in signing a right-back in the January transfer window.

The Hammers do not want to extend Vladimir Coufal’s contract and want to bring in a right-back as a potential replacement.

The report has claimed that West Ham are “actively pursuing” Nelson Semedo “as a potential replacement for Coufal”.

West Ham United could be able to sign Nelson Semedo… in 2024 summer

I do not think that West Ham United will be able to sign Nelson Semedo in the January transfer window.

There is no way that Wolverhampton Wanderers will sell the right-back, who has previously been linked with AS Roma, in the middle of the season.

After all, Semedo is an important player for Wolves, who are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The £29 million (The Sun) former Barcelona player has made 11 appearances in the Premier League this season. The Portuguese full-back made 31 starts and five substitute appearances in the league last campaign.

However, the Hammers could be able to secure the services of the 30-year-old in the summer of 2024.

West Ham are a big club that won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season and are playing in the UEFA Europa League this time around.

So, I believe that the Hammers would be appealing to the £84,000-a-week (SalarySport) Nelson, who has been on the books of Wolves since 2020 when he joined from Barcelona and is rated highly by his club’s fans.
