Brennan Johnson now reacts with two words after Jamie Donley makes Tottenham debut

Brennan Johnson has sent a message to Jamie Donley on social media after the youngster made his Tottenham Hotspur debut yesterday.

Tottenham picked up a point at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday after a thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester City.

Ange Postecoglou’s men took an early lead through Son Heung-Min but were forced to come from behind on two occasions. 

The Tottenham skipper netted an unfortunate own goal just moments after opening the scoring before Phil Foden gave City the lead on the half-hour mark.

Giovani Lo Celso produced an exceptional finish in the 70th minute after Spurs put in a much-improved display in the second half.

And after Dejan Kulusevski popped up with a last-minute header to cancel out Jack Grealish’s 82nd-minute strike, Postecoglou turned to his bench. 

The Aussie decided to hand Jamie Donley his Tottenham debut as the youngster replaced Brennan Johnson. Now, the Welshman has sent Donley a message on Instagram after a huge moment for the 18-year-old.

Johnson reacts to Donley debut

Donley took to social media after yesterday’s game to express his delight at making his debut for his boyhood club.

He wrote: “Tottenham debut. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey.”

A host of Tottenham youngsters flocked beneath the post to congratulate Donley, including the likes of Yago Santiago and Alfie Dorrington.

And the man Donley replaced to make his debut, Johnson, also left a two-word reply.

Donley has featured on the bench on a few occasions already this season and has also been training with the first team

The Englishman has impressed for the Under-21s this season, registering 17 goal involvements in 11 appearances.

He certainly deserves his opportunity and while he only got a few minutes under his belt, it was a huge show of faith from Postecoglou to bring him on in such a crucial moment against the champions.
