There’s been a lot of talk about Arsenal signing a new striker in the January transfer window.
The north London club are hoping to win the Premier League this season, but many believe that the Gunners won’t be able to lift any major silverware until they have a bona fide 20-goal-a-season striker on their books.
The likes of Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins have been linked recently, but according to Football Transfers, Mikel Arteta has another striker in mind as his top target.
Indeed, Football Transfers report that Dusan Vlahovic is Arsenal’s top striker target heading into January.
It shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone that this rumour has cropped up.
Vlahovic has been linked to Arsenal in every single transfer window for the last three years it feels like.
The Gunners did go in for the Serbian back in 2021 before he made his move to Juventus, but, at the time, the striker opted to move to Turin rather than north London.

Since then, there has been something of a power shift as Arsenal’s stock has risen and Juventus’ stock has continued to fall, and Vlahovic may well be tempted to join the Gunners at this juncture.
Vlahovic would certainly be an interesting addition for the Gunners. He’s very much a modern striker in that, just like Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez, he combined speed, strength and skill expertly.
Standing at 6ft 3, Vlahovic is physically very imposing, but he’s also absolutely rapid. In fact, The Speeds Database have clocked him as being even faster than Jeremy Doku – a player whose speed has torn many defences apart this season.
Whether or not this move goes ahead remains to be seen, but Vlahovic is certainly a player we should be keeping an eye on as we get closer and closer to the January window.
