Why Mikel Arteta was furious with Aaron Ramsdale v Brentford

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was not entirely happy with Aaron Ramsdale against Brentford.

That is according to Football.London journalist Kaya Kaynak, who has noted an incident in the first half of the Premier League game.

So, what has been reported about Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsdale? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Arsenal beat Brentford 1-0 in the London derby on Saturday evening. Germany international Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the Premier League match in the 89th minute.

Aaron Ramsdale started in goal for Arsenal. David Raya is now the first-choice goalkeeper for the Gunners, but the Spain international was ineligible against his parent club.

Ramsdale did play well in the second half, but there were moments in the first 45 minutes when he put undue pressure on himself.

There was a moment when the England international goalkeeper held onto the ball far longer than he should have and almost gave away a goal to Brentford.

As you can see, Football.London journalist Kaya Kaynak has noted that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was furious at Ramsdale for not playing a goal-kick properly.

Arteta wanted Ramsdale to go long. The £24 million (The Athletic) England international goalkeeper played it short.

David Raya to come back in for Aaron Ramsdale for Arsenal

In my opinion, David Raya will now come back into the Arsenal starting lineup and will replace Aaron Ramsdale in goal.

As former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has noted, Raya is the number one goalkeeper now for the Gunners.

I do not see how Ramsdale is going to keep his place in the Arsenal starting lineup.

Even if the Englishman had produced a brilliant performance, I believe that Arteta would still go with Raya, who is very likely to have his loan deal turned into a permanent contract.
