‘I love to watch’: Joel Piroe says there’s two Manchester City players he really admires right now

Leeds United forward Joel Piroe has been doing well since moving from Swansea and he’s admitted to getting some influence from Man City.

Well, from a few City players, that is.

The Leeds forward has been linking up superbly well with Georgino Rutter and has been playing a mix of a number ten and nine role in recent weeks.

And speaking to Sky Sports, Piroe admitted that he simply loves watching the City duo of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.

Joel Piroe admits Haaland and Alvarez influence

Speaking to Sky, Piroe said that he watches a number of Premier League players to pick up tips.

“I love to watch big Premier League and Champions League games, and I like to see how Haaland and Alvarez work,” Piroe says.

“There are some similarities. You see the runs Haaland makes, that’s something we can add to our game. It’s about making sure we have all the positions covered, so we can be even more effective than we are now. But those guys work so hard to get better every week, it shows what we have to do to improve as well.”

No better pairing for Piroe to watch

Haaland and Alvarez are probably the best strike duo in the league, if not Europe. So for Piroe to be keeping an eye on them is only good news for Leeds fans.

Piroe was always going to be a good signing for the Whites and he’s proving it more and more as the weeks tick on by.

If he can keep doing well, scoring goals, and keep interested in these top players he mentions here, then the sky is the limit really.

Piroe, of course, will be hoping to rub shoulders with the City duo next season as he looks to fire Leeds to promotion back to the Premier League.
