‘That’s class’…Owen Hargreaves absolutely loved what £160k-a-week Arsenal man did at Brentford tonight

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was a happy man tonight as Kai Havertz scored a late winner to see off Brentford.

The Gunners boss looked on his subs paid off, with Havertz stealing in at the back post to nod home a big winner for the North Londoners.

Havertz has had a torrid time of things since arriving and the delight from his manager was clear to see.

Arteta took the German over the Arsenal fans at the end to get the plaudits in what was a nice touch from the Spaniard.

And speaking about the incident for PL Productions, Owen Hargreaves loved what he’d seen.

Owen Hargreaves loves what Arteta did with Havertz tonight

Speaking about the incident, Hargreaves admitted he loved what Arteta did.

“That’s class from Mikel Arteta, taking Havertz over to the fans. You need moments in your career, especially when you start somewhere. This is a huge one for him. One of the things he’s best at is heading the ball. Put the ball in, let him go attack it. A good evening for Arsenal,” Hargreaves said.

Havertz will be hoping the moment provides a huge boost to him in the coming weeks as the Gunners prepare for a busy Christmas period.

Classy moment

As Hargreaves says, it was nice of Arteta to make the end of the game all about Kai Havertz. The big-money summer signing has had so many critics and at times has looked a bit lost in his performances.

However, he made a big impact tonight and it was clear that his manager wanted to ensure the fans knew just how important he was for the club.

The Gunners are motoring along nicely at the moment. There is a lot of momentum building and sitting top of the table, there’s a lot to be happy about for the club and Arteta, who they are paying one of the PL’s top managerial contracts on £160k-a-week wages.

Havertz will have loved this tonight. A close-ranger header was just what he needed and he’ll hope the only way is up now for him.
