Arsenal are now furious with a decision the FA has made

Arsenal are now said to be incredibly frustrated by a decision the FA has made over Roberto De Zerbi in comparison to Mikel Arteta.

According to Mail Sport, Roberto De Zerbi will now escape punishment for comments he made about disliking ‘80 percent of England’s referees’.

The Brighton Hove Albion boss made the comments after a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United when criticising the referee’s performance.

And this report says that Arsenal now feel hugely hard done by given Mikel Arteta was charged for his comments after the Newcastle United defeat.

De Zerbi is set to be handed a formal warning regarding his future conduct, whereas Arteta was charged for his comments.

Moreover, this information also says that Arsenal may now use De Zerbi’s lack of punishment as an example in their defence.

Since Arteta’s outburst about Anthony Gordon’s goal, the manager has seemed keen to change his tune.

Arteta went out of his way to praise VAR following Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Burnley – something Gary Lineker did enjoy.

But it seems this situation will now be ongoing in the following weeks.

Arsenal left frustrated with fresh FA decision after charge for Mikel Arteta

Of course, with club football now returning, Arteta’s focus will be firmly set on a trip to Brentford.

The manager is expected to make three changes to his starting XI – including the return of Aaron Ramsdale.

David Raya is of course on loan from Brentford, so Ramsdale should get a rare opportunity.

And without taking their opponents too lightly, Arsenal do now have a series of winnable games, ones in which they will want to build momentum.

Arsenal will need to forget about the FA charge for Arteta in the interim, and put greater focus on their performances now.

Despite a good week before the international break, there’s still the feeling that something is missing from Arsenal’s performances.

Mikel Arteta’s side are perhaps lacking a little bit of creativity – something Martin Odegaard’s return may help.

Either way, with the rest of the top five all playing each other this weekend, there’s a big opportunity for Arsenal to gain some ground in the early title race.
