Ian Wright and Bukayo Saka absolutely loved £27m Arsenal player’s performance yesterday

Whilst it almost shouldn’t come as a surprise at this point, Ian Wright and Bukayo Saka were left in awe of William Saliba’s performance for Arsenal yesterday.

Saliba proved to be the difference maker at both ends of the pitch for Arsenal against Burnley, and was crucial in securing the three points.

Aside from his goal, Saliba also produced some excellent tackles on the back foot towards his own goal.

And after the game, the £27m defender rightfully took to Instagram to celebrate his finish and the three points.

The French international uploaded a post with the caption: “A goal and 3 points, amazing Saturday. Enjoy your weekend Gooners!”

To which, Ian Wright and Bukayo Saka both took their chance to celebrate another outstanding Saliba performance for Arsenal.

Saka commented “Top!” and Wright simply replied with a heart emoji.

It was certainly a much needed home performance for Mikel Arteta’s side, who regained the good feeling at the Emirates just before the international break.

Of course, the challenge for this Arsenal team will now be to sustain the creative levels they showed against Sevilla and Burnley this week.

Although they have looked more defensively robust, Arteta’s side looked to be lacking something in defeats to West Ham and Newcastle United.

And whilst Burnley have struggled to keep clean sheets this season, Arsenal did look much improved going forward.

Mikel Arteta reserved a lot of praise for Jorginho after the game, hailing his importance to this Arsenal side.

However, the introduction of Leandro Trossard seems to have been the catalyst for the improved performances this week.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have both been benefitting from the Belgian playing in a false nine role.

And whilst Saka and Wright were praising Saliba on this occasion, they could have easily been celebrating his Arsenal teammate, Trossard.

There’s clearly a ton of talent in this Arsenal squad, one that Arteta and Edu Gaspar are meticulously building.

However, the Arsenal boss will still be very pleased if some of his key names can now return to fitness in this international break.
