Edu Gaspar and Declan Rice left amazed by £27m Arsenal player’s display vs Brentford

Edu Gaspar and Declan Rice have both sent messages to Gabriel Magalhaes on social media after Arsenal beat Brentford yesterday.

Mikel Arteta’s men picked up a 1-0 win at the Gtech Community Stadium thanks to a last-gasp Kai Havertz winner.

It’s been the story of Arsenal’s season so far as they haven’t been at their best but managed to get the job done on the road.

The win also moved the Gunners above Manchester City to the top of the table after Pep Guardiola’s men were held to a 1-1 draw against Liverpool yesterday.

While Arsenal dominated for large periods of Saturday’s game, Brentford posed a huge threat on the counter-attack.

The Bees went close on a few occasions but both Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba were exceptional once again.

And it’s fair to say that Declan Rice and Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar were both impressed with Gabriel’s display.

Edu and Rice amazed by Gabriel

Gabriel took to Instagram last night to express his delight after picking up a crucial three points.

He wrote: “How good it is to be back with you Guys!! +3 and a clean sheet!!”

Both Rice and Edu left comments beneath the post, with the latter suggesting Gabriel put in a ‘top’ performance.

Gabriel didn’t enjoy the best international break as he was criticised after his displays for Brazil.

But the £27 million defender has been so consistent for Arsenal over the past year and he’s certainly one of Edu’s standout signings at the Emirates Stadium.

He’s struck up such a brilliant partnership with Saliba and the duo dealt with the threat of Bryan Mbeumo yesterday.

The 25-year-old hasn’t put a foot wrong since coming back into the side after missing the opening two games of the campaign.

Arsenal seem to be in a good place at the moment as they are finding ways to win without being at their best.
