Gabriel Jesus now says £25m Arsenal man is the toughest player he’s ever faced in training

Gabriel Jesus has now named Gabriel Magalhaes as the toughest player he’s trained against at Arsenal thus far.

Jesus was speaking to the Premier League and was questioned on who he has difficulties facing at the club, and the striker certainly had no hesitation.

Jesus named his compatriot Gabriel immediately – a player he must feel fortunate to play alongside at Arsenal.

And that answer may surprise some Arsenal fans given William Saliba does appear to be the most accomplished defender at the club.

Despite his qualities, Mikel Arteta has been a lot more willing to rotate Gabriel with Jakub Kiwior, something rarely seen with Saliba.

And despite an unsettled start to the season, one possibly affected by transfer speculation, £25m Gabriel is now performing well.

Perhaps more questions are now being asked of Gabriel Jesus.

Gary Neville has now aired his concerns over the lack of an elite striker at Arsenal, someone he’d consider to be their number one choice.

And although Arsenal signing a striker is a popular topic right now, this does all seem very harsh on the Brazilian.

Gabriel Jesus has performed brilliantly for Arsenal since signing from Manchester City in 2022.

Perhaps Jesus’ bad luck with injuries is now being slightly confused with an ineffectiveness on the pitch.

Jesus’ absence, leaving Eddie Nketiah to lead the line, has been the catalyst for much of these discussions and links to the likes of Ivan Toney.

But when Jesus is fit and playing, it would be incredibly harsh to suggest that the striker can’t lead Arsenal to a title.

As well as providing assists and goals, Jesus visibly lifts those around him.

So whilst Jesus is commending Gabriel on this occasion, there would surely be a queue of Arsenal players willing to sing the strikers praises.

The focus for Jesus will now be to leave behind a series of knee injuries that have been hampering his output.

And Jesus does now appear to be making some progress whilst training away with Brazil.
