Aston Villa now very interested in signing ‘magnificent’ £25m Arsenal player next summer

Aston Villa are very interested in Kieran Tierney and could look to make a bid for the Arsenal left-back in the summer.

That is according to a report from Football Transfers, which notes that Real Sociedad could also look at keeping the Scotland international on a permanent basis.

Kieran Tierney has potentially become a forgotten man at the Emirates. Despite being a fan favourite for much of his time in North London, Mikel Arteta gave him the green light to leave on loan in the summer.

Unfortunately, injuries have been a big factor in Tierney’s time at Arsenal. And he has also missed a fair chunk of this season due to injury, with initial fears suggesting that he may miss the rest of the calendar year.

Tierney was back in the Real Sociedad match day squad for their win over Sevilla on Sunday. However. he was left on the bench in the 2-1 victory. So it has definitely not been an easy time for the 26-year-old.

Nevertheless, there is already interest building in him ahead of next summer.

Real Sociedad reportedly want to sign Tierney permanently. Meanwhile, Football Transfers reports that Aston Villa are very keen on signing the former Celtic man next summer.

Unai Emery is apparently considering replacing Lucas Digne. And Tierney finds himself on the club’s radar.

Move may be best for all sides

Arsenal would surely have few complaints if Aston Villa made a big offer for Tierney. It does appear that the defender just does not suit the style Mikel Arteta wants his team to play. And they will also probably want to bring in some money after overhauling the squad over the last few years.

Tierney has been ‘magnificent‘ at times since his £25 million move. However, it may be best for all parties if he ends up at Villa Park if Emery really does want to secure his signature.
