Matty Cash has just posted three word message on Twitter after Aston Villa beat Tottenham

Aston Villa defender Matty Cash has now shared a message to fans after a controversial performance against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

Taken off at half-time by Unai Emery, Cash was close to being dismissed having luckily escaped a second yellow card.

The defender’s first yellow resulted from a rash challenge on Rodrigo Bentancur – one that infuriated Tottenham fans.

Bentancur is only just back from injury and many Spurs fans felt as if the challenge had unnecessary force behind it.

And as a result, Bentancur could now be facing another spell on the sidelines.

Speaking for the first time since the game, Villa’s Cash shared a three world message on X, one that ignored the incident.

Cash simply said: “Massive Win! UTV.”

Of course, Tottenham fans were particularly incensed by the tackle as they recalled another injury in the past.

Matt Doherty spent an unfortunate spell on the sidelines having also been injured by a Matty Cash tackle.

So whilst fans will have differing opinions on the situation, it has caused a stir.

Matty Cash has now shared a message following Villa’s dramatic win at Tottenham

Whilst this debate seems to be rife among fans right now, Ange Postecoglou has been focused on delivering some positives.

When discussing Spurs’ performance, Postecoglou delivered praise for Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez who he labelled ‘outstanding’.

The manager thought Tottenham did play well, a performance he much preferred to that at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Moreover, Postecoglou shared his belief that Spurs will stand well in the long-run if they continue to perform as so.

And although he did enter the pitch against Villa as a result of Cash’s tackle, it doesn’t seem as if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has a Tottenham future.

Along with Eric Dier, the defender was overlooked when Spurs had so many absentees, with Postecoglou preferring to play the likes of Emerson Royal out of position.

And whilst things look pretty chaotic at Spurs heading into January, the same can’t be said at Villa.

Unai Emery’s team are further along in their project and look like an impressive, steady ship set for big things.

Although, those of a Villa persuasion may be surprised by one thing Emery did yesterday
