Journalist shares what Peter Grant was saying to him about Celtic striker Hyeongyu Oh

Hyeongyu Oh is a player who is certainly dividing opinions amongst the media pundits as the South Korean continues to struggle for gametime at Celtic,

The 22-year-old has been getting lambasted by certain sections of the punditry world and being told he’s not good enough when, in truth, he’s hardly had the opportunity to show what he is capable of.

However, it seems that he has been getting a bit of support from Celtic legend, Peter Grant. Journalist, Peter Martin has shared what Grant told him about Oh and it seems that he is a fan of the youngster.

Martin said [PLZ Soccer], “I mean, I was speaking to Peter Grant yesterday, and he said he likes his movement and things.

“That maybe, depending on the way Celtic play, if they could just get more service to him, he might come good. I’m not so sure.

“I think they need somebody who can score goals.”

Hyeongyu Oh can be a success at Celtic, given time

Time and opportunity. That’s all Hyeongyu Oh needs at Celtic. And what he has shown so far is that if he is given both, he will score you goals.

Against St Mirren, he was excellent as he netted a late winner to ensure all three points in the Scottish Premiership match stayed at Celtic Park.

And in the 6-0 win against Aberdeen, Oh’s late double helped secure the biggest win of the season against the Pittodrie side.

In both games, he was given time and an opportunity to show what he could and he duly delivered.

Against Motherwell, he was disappointing but I don’t think one game is enough to completely write the young footballer off.

Oh is likely to get another opportunity in the Champions League tie against Lazio tonight and wouldn’t it be just brilliant if he popped up with a goal to silence those that believe he shouldn’t be at the club?
