‘It’s a shame’… National team manager disappointed after injury news about two Celtic players

As it’s international week again it’s that time when TBR Celtic looks to bring you any updates on the players who have left Scotland to join their international squads.

Celtic currently have 14 players away on international duty over the next ten days and above hoping they all perform well, the fans will be hoping that they will return injury-free.

However, two players they don’t need to worry about are Celtic forwards Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda.

Kyogo was injured in the 6-0 win over Aberdeen on Sunday where a sickening head clash forced him to be subbed off.

Maeda was injured in the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid where his red card challenge damaged ligaments which will keep him out for up to six weeks.

Japan boss, Hajime Moriyasu, was asked about both players and he was sympathetic but backed them both to return stronger than ever.

Moriyasu said [The Herald], “It’s a shame to miss them both, but the players are the ones who are most disappointed.

“First of all, the most important thing is that both recover fully and return to being productive at their club.

“I think they are players who have the strong will and power to do that.”

For Celtic, it means that Kyogo and Maeda both join Reo Hatate on the injury table as Brendan Rodgers looks to cope without a couple of his top players in December.

Thankfully, Kyogo will be back in time for the season kicking off again against Motherwell on the 25th of November at Celtic Park.

But the omissions of Hatate and Maeda does still give an opportunity to those players who are out on the fringes of the Celtic first team.

With a hectic schedule coming up in December, Brendan Rodgers will need to utilise his whole squad to avoid any players burning out or getting more injuries.
