‘Exciting’ 22-year-old is now thinking about leaving Celtic in January transfer window

With the January window fast approaching, the Celtic fans will be excited to see if Brendan Rodgers will add some new faces to the squad.

The Celtic manager was vocal in communicating the need for the Hoops to trim down the squad and it seems that one player already has his eye on the exit door.

Young Marco Tilio was a record signing from the Australian A-League this summer. Celtic spent £1.5m on the midfielder making him Australia’s most expensive export.

Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Tilio was struggling to settle at Celtic due to his injury and the fact that the intensity of the Scottish game is much higher than he is used to.

And now, it seems, that Tilio is ‘considering’ looking at a loan move in January in an attempt to get himself some first-team football according to a report in the Daily Record.

The report says that Tilio is hoping that his involvement with the Australian u23’s will help convince Rodgers to give him more first-team minutes but if it doesn’t then he is ‘open’ to a possible loan move.

Described as an ‘exciting‘ player by the Australian national Assistant Manager, Ufuk Talay, Tilio does come to Celtic with a degree of potential but, so far, he has lacked the opportunity to show it.

Former Rangers star, Craig Moore, is also a huge fan of the Celtic winger but believes that he comes under the bracket of a ‘project signing’.

Whatever is going on with the youngster, it is clear that until he starts to get minutes in those legs he is not going to play ahead of Daizen Maeda, Luis Palma and Hyunjun Yang as all three are in a rich vein of form right now.

And when Liel Abada does return in December, he will fall even further down the pecking order. Fingers crossed that he can the football he is looking for as he does sound like he good be a good prospect for Celtic down the line.

In other news, Celtic winger Luis Palma has picked up a ‘slight injury’ on international duty
