Edu personally wants to reward £50m Arsenal player with new deal

Arsenal are planning to hand Ben White a new contract.

That is according to Football.London, which has claimed how Arsenal Sporting Director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta really view White.

So, what has been reported about Arsenal and Ben White? Let’s take a look.

Arsenal want Ben White to sign a new deal

Well, according to Football.London, Arsenal want Ben White to sign a new contract with the North London club.

The Gunners are hopeful of tying White down to a new deal. The report has noted that Arsenal Sporting Edu is personally “keen to reward the 26-year-old for his fine recent performances”.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is also very happy with the defender who cost the North London club £50 million in transfer fees.

White, who is a central defender by trade but is playing as a right-back, is under contract at Arsenal until the summer of 2026.

Ben White is a big player for Arsenal

In my view, Ben White is one of the best and most important players for Arsenal. While centre-backs Gabriel and William Saliba have been widely praised, and rightly so, we have to underline the importance of the 26-year-old as well.

White is a centre-back by trade, but the way he has played at right-back is very commendable. The former Leeds United loanee seems natural at it.

The Arsenal no. 4 has made 11 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season. He has scored one goal in those games.

White has made three starts and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the Gunners this campaign.

In my opinion, Arsenal are right to reward White with a new deal. I think that under Arteta, the defender will continue to grow and develop.
