Leeds fans react as midfielder reportedly in talks to return to former side

Leeds United midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi is reportedly in talks to finally end his nightmare spell at Elland Road by returning to Japanese side Gamba Osaka this summer – and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claim that the 22-year-old could return to the club that sold him to Leeds in January 2018, in what has been a failed project for the 12-time Japan international.

Ideguchi joined Leeds 18 months ago before being loaned immediately to Spanish side Cultural Leonesa. It was believed that a half-season spell in the second tier of Spanish football would strengthen his World Cup claims.

However, he managed just five appearances in Spain and failed to be a part of the Japan side that travelled to Russia. Last season, he was on loan at German side Greuther Furth, but a long-term knee injury limited him.

Now, Marcelo Bielsa has already decided this summer that he has no chance of breaking into the Leeds side and offloading him will free up wages. Indeed, Leeds are looking to strike a deal again with Gamba Osaka.

Leeds fans have reacted to the news that Ideguchi could leave the club this summer without making a single appearance for the Yorkshire outfit, and many feel somewhat sorry for the young midfielder.
