Inter Milan could now look to sign 18-year-old Celtic player

Celtic’s transfer business has been well spoked about this season. Especially after the recent Champions League exit.

With Brendan Rodgers bemoaning the lack of quality Celtic have in their ranks, there is a player in the B team that has that quality but id currently in demand from some of the top teams in Europe.

Rocco Vata is nearing the end of his current contract with Celtic and with the young winger no closer to signing a new deal at the club, interest in his services has grown.

TBR Celtic told how Frosinone was the latest team to be linked with the youngster and now it seems that Inter Milan have scouted Vata with a view to making a in January.

That’s according to a report in the Daily Record this morning. The report says, “The Serie A giants are the latest Italian club to put the Republic of Ireland under-21 cap on their radar.

“They watched the winger play in young Celtic’s impressive 2-0 win over Lazio in the Fersini Stadium in Rome. Inter are interested but if they were to firm up their interest it would be to sign Vata and loan him out in the first instance.”

On top of Inter and Frosinone, Torino have also checked out Vata and, as yet, nothing has developed from their end but there is no doubt the youngster is in demand.

Tipped to become a star in football, Vata looks like the next bright young name that Celtic are set to lose unless they can fix his current contract status.

But if teams like Inter Milan are starting to show interest, Celtic may not have a say in keeping the talented 18-year-old as when the giants of Serie A come calling like Ben Doak did with Liverpool, Vata will find that very difficult to turn down.
