Inter Miami star sends message to Alistair Johnston with Celtic defender looking ripped on Canada duty

With the international break now in full swing, Celtic chat focuses on how the players are settling, and playing, for their respective national sides.

With the first round of fixtures kicking off tonight, Celtic supporters can follow how Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor and Anthony Ralston do for Scotland, or Hyeongyu Oh fares with South Korea with fingers and toes crossed that none of them return home with an injury.

But the Celtic fans won’t need to worry about defender, Alistair Johnston. The 25-year-old fullback was looking seriously ripped whilst training with the Canada national side as he shared this update on Instagram:

Johnston looks in great shape and it looks like it will take a challenge from a bear to injure the Celtic star.

However, he left his international teammate and Inter Miami star, Kemal Miller, seriously impressed as he posted this reply:

Translated to English, ‘maquina’ means ‘machine’ and my goodness it’s little wonder Alistair Johnston never runs out of steam.

He is looking ripped and sharp for Canada and, hopefully, he returns in the same condition as Brendan Rodgers is going to need him for the run of fixtures coming his way after the internatonal break is over.

Celtic have ten games in just over four weeks to negotiate. This includes the final two Champions League ties against Lazio and Feyenoord and tricky home ties to Hibs, Hearts and Rangers before the New Year.

Fingers crossed that Johnston comes through the Canada fixtures unscathed because Rodgers is already facing these fixtures without Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate.

The Celtic manager can ill-afford another of his his first team stars to drop out with injury as he looks to qualify from Group E and keep his lead intact at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
