Crystal Palace are now interested in signing 22-year-old Celtic player in January

It’s getting close to the transfer silly season as Celtic players who continue to impress this season start to attract the attention of clubs from England and further afield.

One player in particular that seems to be getting a lot of attention is 22-year-old midfielder, Matt O’Riley.

O’Riley has been in incredible form for Celtic this season and has really flourished under new manager, Brendan Rodgers.

So much so that Crystal Palace are reportedly monitoring the £1.5m signing from MK Dons. That’s according to The Scottish Sun.

The report claims that on top of Palace, Newcastle, Leicester, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all on the trail of O’Riley. Demand is seriously high for the Hoops star.

The 22-year-old has recently been described as the best player in Scotland after his performances in the Champions League for Celtic.

But he has also been incredible for the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership as O’Riley helps keep Celtic as the dominant team at the top of the table.

The report also claims that Celtic would ‘think about’ any offers above £10m but in my opinion, teams who are interested in O’Riley will need to at least double that amount if they want to prise him away from Glasgow.

With Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Lille all listed in the report as having an interest in Matt O’Riley, should Celtic wish to sell, they will have no shortage of offers for the youngster which would also push his price up.

Celtic needs to try and hold onto O’Riley until at least the end of the season. With automatic entry to next season’s Champions League still up for grabs for the Scottish champions and a £60m bounty to boot, O’Riley will be crucial to Celtic getting there by winning the league this season.
