‘If you said’… Michail Antonio predicts how Tottenham Hotspur will fare v Manchester City

West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has predicted how Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur will fare against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Antonio has said that Tottenham are in for a tough time at the Etihad Stadium.

So, what has Michail Antonio said about Manchester City against Tottenham Hotspur? Let’s take a look.

Michail Antonio backs Manchester City to beat Tottenham Hotspur

Well, Manchester City will lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday. The match will be held at the Etihad Stadium. Ray Parlour has backed Pep Guardiola’s side to win.

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio believes that City will pick up all three points from the encounter.

The Jamaica international has noted how Spurs have lost their last three Premier League matches and have injury issues, while City came from two goals down to win in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Antonio said on The Players Channel podcast on BBC: “It’s a difficult one. If you said this at the beginning of the season I would have said it would have been an unbelievable game and I feel they probably could have nicked something.

“Now, with all their injuries and the form they have got, it’s a difficult one to say they are going to get something, especially with how good City have been – especially in the Champions League just gone, 2-0 down and coming back to win 3-2. They are firing. They are all red arrows right now.”

Manchester City under pressure from Arsenal

While Tottenham Hotspur are going through a bad spell, I believe that Manchester City will be under more pressure to win this match.

City are the defending champions and have (arguably?) the best squad in England and perhaps even in Europe. It is almost like a free hit for Spurs at the Etihad Stadium.

For City, though, it is a match they have to win because of what Arsenal did on Saturday. The Gunners beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are now at the top of the Premier League table with 33 points from 14 matches. City are second with 29 points from 13 games.
