‘Quadruple his wage’: Some City fans are buzzing as club plan to hand ‘future captain’ new deal

Manchester City are reportedly working on offering Ruben Dias a new bumper contract with the club.

According to the Sun, the Premier League champions want to award the Portuguese international a fresh deal after a brilliant debut season in England.

Dias formed a formidable defensive partnership with John Stones as the duo played a pivotal role in City’s Premier League triumph. The England international also signed a new deal earlier in the month.

Although the 24-year-old defender joined City just under 12 months ago, the club are already working on handing Dias a new contract. The centre-back earns a reported £90,000-a-week.

Indeed, with Stones now on £250,000-a-week according to the Athletic, a new contract seems only fair for Dias, who was named the Premier League Player of the Season last campaign.
