Chris Sutton agrees with Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou

Well, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou does not like the idea of sin-bins in football at all. The former Celtic manager has publicly said that it is a bad idea.

As reported by BBC Sport, the game’s lawmaking body, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) are considering introducing a 10-minute sin-bins for cynical fouls and dissent at professional level.

Sin-bins have been trialled at grassroots level since 2019, but we could now see them in the professional game.

Tottenham boss Postecoglou does not like the idea at all and has slammed it.

And, as you can see below, former Celtic striker and BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton agrees with him.

Sutton believes that sin-bins will cause more chaos in football. We already have VAR issues pretty much every week.

Postecoglou made the comments about sin-bins ahead of the Premier League match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

No sin-bins in football, please

I personally do not think that sin-bins are a great idea. We are already still struggling with VAR. We see VAR issues every week in the Premier League, and there was a really bad one in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Football is a simple game. I do not think that we need to complicate it by adding sin-bins. While it may have been conceived to make the game better and more fair, just like VAR was, it could just become a problem, just like VAR is at times.
