Club will not sell their ‘very good’ striker to Arsenal or West Ham United

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and David Moyes’s West Ham United are facing a problem in signing Santiago Gimenez.

That is according to The Mirror, which has noted interest from Tottenham Hotspur in the Feyenoord striker as well.

So, what is being reported about Arsenal and West Ham United target Santiago Gimenez? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to The Mirror, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are interested in signing Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord.

West Ham are keen on signing a new striker in the January transfer window.

One of the strikers on the radar of the Hammers is Gimenez. The London club have been tracking the 22-year-old for a while.

The report has claimed that Arsenal and Tottenham have scouted the 22-year-old as well. Atletico Madrid, too, are keen on the Mexico international striker.

Barcelona have also been linked with Gimenez. Earlier this year, Aston Villa were showing interest in the youngster.

The Mirror, though, has pointed out a hurdle that the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham face in regard to signing Gimenez.

Feyenoord simply do not want to sell the striker. The Dutch club will reportedly “rebuff any January approaches” and plan to keep him until the end of the season.

Arsenal and West Ham United should continue to keep tabs on Santiago Gimenez

In my opinion, Arsenal and West Ham United should try to sign Santiago Gimenez in the summer of 2024.

It is always unlikely that a big club such as Feyenoord would sell any of their best players in the middle of the season.

However, things could change in the summer of 2024. A transfer to Arsenal or West Ham could appeal to Gimenez.

Arne Slot’s side are second in the Eredivisie table with 29 points from 12 matches, seven points behind leaders PSV. Gimenez has scored 13 goals and given three assists in 12 league games this season.

Last month, former Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart described the 22-year-old as “a very good striker” who has “so much confidence”.
