West Ham United could now bid for striker whose ‘work ethic is incredible’

West Ham United are planning to make a bid for Dominic Solanke in the January transfer window.

That is according to The Mirror, which has reported a problem that West Ham face in getting a deal done with Bournemouth.

So, what is being reported about West Ham United and Dominic Solanke? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to The Mirror, West Ham United are interested in signing Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in the January transfer window.

The report has noted that West Ham tried to sign the former Liverpool striker in the summer of 2023.

Bournemouth turned down the Hammers’ bid of £40 million for Solanke.

West Ham are planning a new bid for the striker in January. However, just like in the summer, Bournemouth do not want to sell Solanke.

West Ham United could struggle to sign Dominic Solanke

In my opinion, West Ham United are unlikely to be able to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in the January transfer window.

I do not see Bournemouth selling one of their best and most important players in the middle of the season.

After all, the Cherries are in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League. So, why would Bournemouth sanction an exit for their main striker?

Solanke has made 12 appearances in the Premier League so far this season. The Bournemouth striker has scored six goals and given one assist in those games.

I believe that West Ham could be able to sign the 26-year-old former Liverpool striker in the summer of 2024.

Bournemouth are likely to be receptive to selling the striker for a big fee at the end of the season, especially if they get relegated to the Championship.

Solanke, described by former Bournemouth manager Scott Parker as a striker whose “work ethic is incredible” himself could find a move to the Hammers appealing.

The striker has made 108 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Solanke has scored 16 goals and given 11 assists in those games.
