£30m Arsenal player could now return from injury against Burnley

Arsenal have a bit of an injury crisis on their hands right now.

Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe and Jurrien Timber are all sidelined at the moment, while Martin Odegaard and Eddie Nketiah have been absent as of late.

However, speaking on ShotsTV, Chris Wheatley has provided a positive update on Odegaard’s situation, claiming that the £30m midfielder is expected to be back in action soon, and he could even be back to face Burnley this weekend.

Odegaard could be back

Wheatley shared what he knows about the Arsenal captain.

“All of those players are on the sidelines at the moment, but we do expect Eddie Nketiah and Martin Odegaard to be back relatively soon, they could be back for this weekend’s game against Burnley, but Jesus is still a few weeks away from returning and Thomas Partey is on the sidelines with a thigh injury

Boost

This is great news for Arsenal.

Odegaard is arguably the Gunners’ best player when he’s in full flow, and having him back in the side bring a whole new dynamic to the attack.

The midfielder is a fantastic goalscorer as well as a fantastic playmaker, and he just brings so much to this Arsenal team.

With his fitness issues behind him, Odegaard should be able to rediscover his best form for Arsenal in the coming weeks, and hopefully, that can spur Arsenal on to another level as they’ve lacked a bit of a cutting edge as of late.

Let’s hope that Wheatley is right and that Odegaard is back for this game against Burnley because a soft landing against the Clarets could be the perfect opportunity for the midfielder to get a goal or an assist and build his confidence back up.
