Benfica winger Everton Soares has revealed that he has been analysing Liverpool stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate’s weaknesses ahead of the Champions League game tonight.
Liverpool should be proud of the 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the weekend. They would’ve, obviously, liked the win, but considering how they played, especially in the first half, they should be happy with a point.
The race for the Premier League title is still very open but Liverpool’s focus, for now, will be on the Champions League, where they have one foot in the semi-finals already.
They have a 3-1 first-leg lead over Benfica and are the favourites to go through. However, they cannot take things for granted.
Everton Soares: I’ve been analysing Liverpool star Trent and Konate’s weak points
Alongside Darwin Nunez, Everton is arguably Benfica’s most dangerous player. On his day, he can cause a lot of problems to the opponent, but Liverpool dealt with him fairly well in the first leg.
Everton wants that to change tonight and he has named two players he’s looking to target.
Speaking in a press conference yesterday, the Brazilian said: “I’ve been trying to study the opponent after the first game, looking to better analyse the individual qualities of Alexander-Arnold and Konate.

“I have tried to see where they have difficulties, the weak point, so that I can exploit and have a happy night, to give joy to the fans.”

Liverpool are the absolute favourites to go through tonight, even if they don’t name their full-strength side. However, football is a funny game and we’ve seen greater upsets in the past.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are solid at the back, even when they change players. There are hardly any visible weaknesses there, especially as they work as a team and don’t really let one player get isolated.
That makes it hard for Everton’s Benfica to cause them a ton of problems tonight, but Alexander-Arnold’s issues with pace and Konate’s concentration levels have allowed opposition into the game before, and that is again a small yet very real possibility at Anfield tonight.
