‘Incredible’… Brendan Rodgers now shares why Luis Palma celebrated with Celtic coach after scoring vs Ross County

Luis Palma’s rise to fame at Celtic has been incredible to watch over the past few months.

With the Celtic winger impressing again on international duty this weekend, it seems that there is someone behind the scenes at Parkhead who is making a massive impact on the player.

Hoops manager, Brendan Rodgers, was speaking about his coaching set-up this weekend and revealed the reason why Palma made bee-line to Harry Kewell after the Honduran smashed in a beautiful long-range goal against Ross County.

Rodgers said [Daily Record], “The coaches have a specific number of players they work with on different elements of their game. An incredible amount of work goes on here, from all of the coaches, to help the players develop.

“We identify areas they need to be better in. Harry will sit with the forward players, John with the defenders and Gavin, the midfielders. Luis (when he celebrated against Ross County) was probably referencing some pointers Harry gave him, which is great.

“Because that’s why we’re here – to train players, give them confidence and improve them. That’s our job so it’s nice when they can reference people who are helping them.”

Harry Kewell is making a massive impact at Celtic

The legendary Australian international is certainly making an impression on Brendan Rodgers at Celtic. Kewell has already stated how much he is enjoying working under the Celtic manager and that seems to be transferring onto the training pitch with the players.

Kewell has been spotted working closely with Daizen Maeda lately as he tries to improve the Japan international’s crossing and delivery of his final ball.

He is also a huge fan of Callum McGregor who Kewell has pinpointed as one of the hardest-working players in training at Celtic.

And whatever Kewell is telling Palma to do is clearly working. The Celtic fans have seen the £3.5m signing from Aris hammer in a few incredible goals this season and when he returns from international duty, they will be hoping to see more of the same to ensure they remain top of the league until the end of the season.
