Liverpool have travelled to Portugal ahead of their Champions League game against Benfica later tonight and Jurgen Klopp will be looking to get the job done in the first leg.

The Reds still have the chance to win the quadruple this season. They already have the Carabao Cup in the bag and it really won’t be a surprise to see them go all the way in the FA Cup, Champions League and of course, the Premier League, where they are just a point behind Manchester City.

Klopp has already worked miracles at Anfield and he deserves immense praise for what he has done. He has transformed Liverpool into one of the best teams in the world and they really are unstoppable at times.

As good as they already are, Liverpool will enter the history books as one of the greatest sides ever if they go on to win the quadruple this season.

Jose Enrique doesn’t want Klopp to rest Liverpool players against Benfica

Liverpool fans are really excited about the Champions League clash at Lisbon later today, but there are a few whose focus is already on the game against Manchester City this weekend.

Some fans on social media have urged Klopp to rest some of Liverpool’s big stars this evening – just so that they will be fit and raring to go this weekend when they travel to the Etihad.

Enrique, however, just cannot understand, that and the Spaniard has urged Klopp to go with a full-strength side against Benfica in Lisbon this evening.

He believes that Benfica are a very strong side and has asked Liverpool fans to not underestimate them.

It is difficult for Klopp to prioritise just one of the Premier League and the Champions League – Liverpool fans want them to win both.

That means the Reds have to field their full-strength side in both competitions. That eliminates the possibility of resting players for the game against Benfica tonight, which should be viewed as a good thing.

Fatigue really shouldn’t be an issue for Liverpool considering they’ll have four full days to prepare for the game against Manchester City. Klopp would’ve ideally preferred more time, but what they currently have is not bad at all and nobody can really complain.

Liverpool will likely field a really strong side in both games and if they play at their highest level, you would fancy them to pick up wins against both Benfica and the defending Premier League champions.
